Welcome to Shute Community Primary School

School Closure Information

Dear parents,

Following on from the announcement this evening from the Prime Minister, school will be closed to all but key worker children and vulnerable children. However, given the exceptionally high rates of infection of the new strain of the virus I would urge you to please only send your children in if you have absolutely no alternative as key worker parents. Pre-school will be open if needed but not reception as that is part of primary school.

Please be patient with us tomorrow while we sort out provision for key worker and vulnerable children along with pre-school children first at school. We will then get home learning activities for each class on Tapestry.

Please email the school on admin@shute-primary.org.uk if you need key worker children support tomorrow so we can have an idea of numbers.

Here is a link to the criteria for key worker and vulnerable children if provision is needed.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Together we learn and grow

Shute is a school that offers an irresistible invitation to learning; a school where learning is an exciting challenge; a school where learners work together to make connections; a school that encourages curiosity; a school where learning is a preparation for life.

Shute offers an amazing start for your child. A village primary, in a beautiful setting, the school can accommodate children between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 11 years across its four classes. The Squirrels@Shute, Foundation Stage Unit offers nursery age provision, on site, to aid a seamless transition between Nursery and School.

We are proud of our unique, family school ethos. It continues to provide first class teaching and learning opportunities for children in a friendly, vibrant and educationally challenging environment where every child is supported to succeed.
Come and visit this exceptional school to see and feel the difference for yourself.
